ISOGENICA ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF COMPANY New Biotechnology Company Provides Revolutionary Tool for Drug Discovery

Cambridge, UK, April 2001…. Announced today, a new company, Isogenica Ltd, located at the prestigious Babraham Hall in Cambridge, has been set up to commercially exploit cutting edge molecular evolution technologies. The company was established after raising approximately $3 million of investment at the end of 2000, from a range of European institutional and private investors.

Isogenica's primary focus is in the research and development of powerful innovative research tools that will allow new therapeutics and diagnostics to be developed more rapidly. This not only includes proteins and peptides, but also small molecule drugs. Isogenica anticipates that it will utilise its molecular evolution technologies in the discovery of new antimicrobial compounds, crucial to managing the rising incidence of common infectious diseases.

Isogenica is developing a platform of technologies, the first of which is its proprietary Covalent Display Technology (CDT). CDT is a powerful means of rapidly generating high affinity binding molecules to any given drug target. Isogenica believes that CDT represents the next generation of biological library technologies with significant advantages over current state-of-the art methods.
